When I was searching through the Youtube I have realised that there are a lot of good non-asian BL movie too. I have watched Queer as Folk a few years ago and I loved it so when the Brokeback Mountain came out I was anxious to see it. But it was a disappointment for me, a "watch it once and forget it" type of film. So I thought that I won't like non-asian movies until I have found a couple of very interesting video on Youtube. They were full of love, made me smile and there was that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. So I had great expectation toward these films and I was't disapponted when I have started watching them. So I will write down a few title and link a few recommendation video of them in case you are interested. By the way I will follow through the top 50 gay films' list on AfterElton so in time you will find more title here.

Shelter
A very loving film, exactly what I need; as someone has written: tenderness... not tragedy. The actors were perfect, I have felt no hestitation in the love scenes. They were more real then the ones I have seen in the asian movies. I have already watched it twice in two days. What I like I can watch countless times (I could not tell how many times I have seen the Bridget Jones's Diary =). Anyway this is a great story with loveable (and handsome) characters. ^^ You should not miss it. My rates: 10/10

Just a Question of Love
This is a french film, I had a hard time till I found it in a better quality on the net. But it was worth it though it was strange to hear it in French language but I would learn French just for this film's sake. I loved this movie, the actors felt natural in a kissing scene or love scene. By the way I have realised why was I embarrassed when I have seen a BL love scene in a movie. Most of the time I couldn't divide the actor and the character in a love scene. All I could think about was "how the hell can they kiss and touch each other when they are not even gay?". In these scenes it looked like the actors were embarrassed too and they touched each other with great hesitation. But in these two films I feel no hesitation or self-consciousness so I was not embarrassed either. Strange, isn't it? =) By the way the story was good, it was very emotional at the second half or near the end. Don't miss this either because the scientist (Cedric) looked soooo good, the perfect man you imagin in your dreams, at least I do. He was cute. ^^ My rates: 10/10

Get real
I have seen a very passionate and full of love video from the movie so I had the same expectations for the film. Well... It was not a bad film, but was not what I thought it would be. The story runs too fast as though the director had cut out half of it. The main characters were too emotional, swearing undying love when they have not had a decent conversation just one night together. It was strange. But it had it's moments, and the neighbour girl was an unforgettable figure, very funny and straightforward. The main pair looked good together, I have always wondered how they could always get the matching pair in a film. Anyway I worth seeing the film at least once. My rates: 7/10

Lucky Blue
This was the film I couldn't understand at all. This is a swedish movie, a short one, and start with "im medias res". We know nothing about the characters's past or future, their relationship with each other, the filmmakers have just grabbed out one and a half day from the characters's life and toss it to the face of the clueless viewer who cannot make anything out of it. At least I have felt this way. The blonde pretty boy looked so artificial with his colorized, "oh so stylish" hair and his doll-like face. I can't believe that the couldn't find at least a real blonde in Sweden, the home of blonde people. My rates: 4/10

Dog Tags
I had a hard time understanding this movie because there was no english subtitle to it so I turned the volume up and sometimes listened 2-3 times the same sentence I didn't understand at first. But on the whole I figured out what they say. The characters were good, the story was a bit twisted but was all right. It focused on the mysterious father of one of the boys, and his identity was really a suprise for me. The pair looked good together and had only a soft love scene, but there was more explicit heterosexual sex in it. Oh, and full male nakedness but not on the main characters's side. Overall the film was good for one and worth seeing it. (Though I still don't know what they have wanted with that empty pictureframe which was a continuously returning pattern through the movie, and what has happened to Andy's last lover. If you know tell me, please.) My rates: 6/10

Beautiful Thing
This film is about two awkward teenagers' realization of their sexuality so the whole film felt too awkward for me. Strange that the plot has a lot of interesting point and gives many possibilities like cruel father and brother, beatings, teasings so some heavy material yet I haven't felt much love which could compensate us for the hurt. That little love in the story was awkward too. To tell the truth I did't really liked the film, it was similar feeling for me like the Brokeback Mountain: in the AfterElton list this film has the second place after the BM but I can't appreciate neither of them. I can't explain why, they just did't feel right, didn't have that special feeling I am searching for. By the way my favourite characters were the crazy neighboor girl, the brave and determined mother, and I am really sorry for the mother's boyfriend, he was so nice and understanding through the film. Cowboys and Angels

I haven't find any subtitle for the movie but it was not too hard to understand the conversations and it was definitely worth it. The film's main theme is not about gayness, it is about a hetero innocent boy's way to hell (to drugs). He has a cute roommate who is gay. So this film doesn't pass to my gay films' list but I have randomly downloaded it and really liked this movie. It has loveable characters and a good funny plot with a happy end and a great suprise at the end. It was a very good film, you shouldn't miss it. My rates: 9/10

Maurice

This is an old film from the time when Hugh Grant was still very young. The film on the whole was ok but something was missing. The main character, the blond guy, did a great job in the film, his acting skill was really good. He was neither shy nor awkward in the kissing or love scenes. But the other main characher (HG) looked like he would rather run away then touch or kiss the other. When they are close you can see him trying to put a distance between them like he was afraid that the other guy can kiss him any moment. So in my opinion his acting skill was far too weak in this film. The plot of the movie was good, gives a good picture of that world where homosexuality was a crime and you can lose everything if they get know of your secret. But I miss the heartwarming love from the film, it is rather like an obsession than love. My rates: 7/10

Latter days
I liked the film, the characters were likeable and much more human than I thought at first. You know, at the beginning there was two typical boy: one is the outgoing guy with perfect body and tight stylish clothes who fuck everybody and doesn't care about love or feelings. The other is the saint innocent virgin boy who teach the "just sex" guy that life is about more than fucking. So they seem stereotypes but they change a lot during the movie and to the end the story developes into something more meaningful and dramatic. It was a good film, has an interesting plot full of coincidences and to the end it teaches you that there are no coincidences just miracles. My rates: 9/10

A Four Letter Word
I am not sure if there was any sense of this film, or what would be the film's lesson/meaning. Despite that it was a funny film though I shouldn't have eaten anything when I was watching it because I started to choke right at the beginning when in the first five minutes I have seen more cocks than in all the other films all together I have watched till now. Most of the characters' personality was twisted to be a laughing-stock and the only sane person was a wild-looking shopboy who goes to naked joga so you can imagine how barmy the other people are. Adam & Steve

This was the first movie after the Lucky Blue I wanted to swich off but in the end I finished it. The beginning was sooo disgusting... And the continuation wasn't better either: all the characters were crazy, normal people doesn't behave like that. I know they have wanted them to be funny but this was way too overdone. Somewhere in the middle they become somewhat more sane and the end was amusing. So I would say that it can be watched if you can get over the beginning caused shock. My rates: 6/10

Were the world mine
I knew that this film is a musical but when I have started to watch it, at first I thought that this is some kind of idiocy. People randomly started to sing and rugby players were balletting and hopping... So it started very strangely but after it became better and more interesting. It show us what would happen if the "Midsummer night's dream" from Shakespeare became real.  The main character is likeable and has a really beautiful voice. Overall the film was good and funny. I have a lot to learn for my final exam at the university, yet I am here on the internet, and have started to watch Boys Love movies I have found on Aarinfantasy's site. Yes, this is me. Always leaving every "must to do thing" to the last minute. And naturally I have never got to finish them. Anyway I just wanted to write about the films I have watched, and do a little recommendation for those I have liked, and a little critic for those I haven't. If you have registered to Aarinfantasy you will find the films here: http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f221/t127634-boys-love-drama-live.html I won't write any summaries because you can find them on Aarinfantasy's site, but there is hardly any review from the films there. So I have decided to help you out in case you need someone's opinion about the BL movies.

Boy Meets Boy
A really sweet litte story, only 10 minutes long. It doesn't have any dialogue in it but it is not even needed because you can still understand everything by the pictures. I loved the film, the characters were cute, funny and real; the plot was simple, had very light yaoi in it. Aside from the two minutes long singing by a stupid looking cupido girl, it was a pleasant film. My rates: 9/10 (-1 point for that cupido)

Boys Love
A very good film, an hour and a half long. The characters were fine, I have felt them real though the reporter looked a bit too young to be an adult. In the beginning the film start with "this is not a tragedy, this is a story about love" or something like this, so I was glad that I will see some romantic happy end story. Well... I was wrong. But I won't tell more. The plot was good, believable and had a funny swimming pool scene though the story leaves you heavy-hearted. It had more yaoi in it, a few naked men from behind, a bit of touching but nothing really explicit. At least I don't remember any of it. My rates: 9/10 (-1 point for the sudden sad ending. Really, why must every BL story has some tragic ending? BL is boys LOVE and love should make you happy, not miserable, isn't it? I have seen five so far, and four of them had a sad end.)

Boys Love 2 - Theatrical edition

This was made by the same team who has made the film above, even one of the main actors (reporter => teacher) was the same. I don't have such a good opinion about this film like I had about the previous one. One of the main characters, the teacher was too bold with his emotions, too artificial. The other main character, the student Amakami looked like a girl, had hardly any personality and did little or nothing through the film. I was really disappointed in him. The other student, Ichiyou, who was a real bookworm and a typical looser teased by everyone, became a more interesting person to the end, but I didn't understand his motives for his final acts. Thought he had a cute but very short love scene. My favourite person was the evil guy, he acted very good. He is the only one in this movie who feels like real. The plot itself was way too slow and quite boring if you ask me. What I missed from this story was the love itself. I have felt nothing between the main characters, only the evil guys jealous glances and that short love scene showed some warm emotions. The film doesn't have any explicit love scene, it has hardly any love scene at all, but you can see so many naked guy in the shower that you can't even count them. The movie was full of fanservice scenes, all of them in the shower of course. It was really overdone. My rates: 5/10

Ai no Kotodama - Words of Devotion
This was the movie I had been waiting for a long time. It had everything what a good BL story needs: loveable characters, funny and romantic plot, a little kissing and caressing AND happy end at last. All the situation seemed real, it could happen anytime anywhere in the reality.  The film was made from a manga under the same title, and it's story is not that far from the manga's either. Both the main actors were doing a great job, you could see the glow between them, especially Shinya's loving gaze and soft smile toward his boyfriend was enchanting. I have fallen for him a little, especially after I have learnt that he sings the opening and the ending songs. The film has a fair share of light yaoi though it was put mainly to the end. I wouldn't have minded if they had mixed it to the story because it gave a bit fanservice feeling to the end of the movie I don't really like (it is okay that you can drooling at it but it was really not needed neither for the story nor for the fans). Anyway the film was fantastic, it was by all means one of the best BL stories though I have seen only a few by far. My rates: 10/10

Bangkok Love Story

This was the first asian BL movie I have seen, it is about a relationship between a policeman and a hitman. Half of the characters drove me crazy: the policeman and his girlfriend's voice hurt my ears with their constant whining. The policeman's conversations and love confessions were so artificial, so unreal. The hitman was better though not much. He was way too hairy by the way and all he did was running away from the other's guy love. The hitman's family (mother and little brother) was the only thing that felt good and real. The little brother's life was so miserable that my heart wrenched. He had to work hard, bear other's teasing and beating, take care of his very ill mother while he himself was ill. He even tried prostitution. I felt sorry for him, he had a hard life while his brother was busy with fucking and then playing the hard to get to the policeman. As most of the asian BL movies this also had a tragic ending so be prepaired. Everyone dies and who is not, they wishes would. Very depressing. My rates: 6/10

Just friends
I have found a subtitled version of this on Youtube, for which I was very grateful. I have wanted to watch it since I have read that this is the continuation of Boy meets boy and since I have seen a video with the main characters. It is not a long film but has the hottest kiss I have ever seen in an asian BL movie. It seems shockingly real with so much passion and not an inch embarrassment or shyness. The plot is good and easy and the characters are loveable. It is definitely worth seeing at least for that kiss. My rates: 8/10
